Houses at Spring, Bequia
The Eyrie was designed and built in the 1960’s of local stone and tropical hardwood, in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, based on octagonal shapes. It has been tastefully modernized and upgraded by the current owners and is presented in immaculate condition! The property is designed for indoor/outdoor living. Cooled by the Atlantic Tradewinds, it has no need for air- conditioning and the electric power is from a grid tied solar panel system.
The property stands in an acre of mature gardens, on the Eastern edge of the Estate. It consists of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom suite lies behind the main living area and contains a bathroom with walk in shower. The current owners have converted the other bedroom into a tv/snug room. The principal living area has a raised dining area which is located next to the cosy triangular kitchen. It offers fully glazed doors that can fold back, allowing totally free movement from the indoor to the outdoor living area.
The main part of the building has a luxurious covered wrap-around deck with an impressive hardwood roof. This roof rises over 20 feet and has large wooden beams that make it truly striking. It takes a few minutes of study to understand how the roof system supports itself. Behind this building, a pathway leads to a large double garage that also offers convenient laundry and tool room facilities. There is a further pathway to the swimming pool area, that offers a large shaded sitting area which is perfect for entertaining.
The garden is tiered with dry stone walls and has an abundance of mature trees and shrubs. It is connected by various lawn and patio areas. Spectacular views extend across Spring and Industry Bays outward to Baliceaux and the Southern Grenadines. Relax have a drink, or even a coffee, when you enjoy the sun rising up from the horizon.
